The Root Cellar
In short: Every Founding Deed has its own pot of ETH, called its Root Cellar. Fees fill the cellars over time, and a deed's Fertility decides how big its share is. Burn a staked deed to cash out its cellar in ETH.
note
Everything in Yield Fields is subject to change, including these numbers and mechanics. We'll give players ample notice before any change.
“Nobody remembers who dug the cellars under the Founding Deeds. They fill slowly, and rarer land runs deeper.”
In plain terms
A slice of every Fert Deck build fee, and later every $YIELD trade, is set aside in ETH for deeds
Each deed's slice is its Root Cellar, and higher Fertility means a bigger slice
Burning a staked deed is how you collect it
How it fills

Every deed has a cellar, staked or not, and its Fertility sets how deep it is. Only a staked deed can be burned to collect it
It fills from Fert Deck build fees now, and from part of every $YIELD buy and sell tax once $YIELD launches
No set amount. It starts filling from day 1 as deed holders build
Why deeds get stronger over time
Cellars fill with every Fert Deck built, and later with every $YIELD trade
Burns shrink the collection. Every burned deed is gone for good, so the rest share future fees
Only deeds make Fertilizer, and every farmer will want it
Collecting it
Burning a staked deed is the only way to open its cellar, and it pays out in ETH. The same burn also wins a share of the Silo. See The Silo and the Windfall for how to burn.
A Root Cellar has no set amount and isn't a price for your deed. It moves with how much is built and traded.
